NINA SCHRÖDER

Passionate about solving what seems like impossible puzzles, Nina is searching for the answer to one question: How can those suffering from hunger get access to food in harsh and arid places? As venture manager at the Innovation Accelerator of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) she joined forces with the Sahrawi refugees in Algeria in 2016 and harvested the hydroponically grown fresh crops in the Sahara Desert. Since then, from the urban slums of Peru to refugee camps in Chad, Nina is revolutionizing, low-cost solutions and testing high- tech, futuristic technologies to disrupt hunger.
